Where do these weeks go?
I’m, once again, inspired by ***abbytryagain***‘s Five Senses Friday.
See – My new fairy lights that plug into the USB plug on my computer. My sister sent them to me, and I love the blue festive hue.
Yay for sisters!
Hear - once again, it’s a mighty quiet Friday. The only thing I hear right now, aside from the clacking of my keyboard, is the hum of the space heater in my office. But quiet is good. It’s calming.
Taste - Chocolate milk. Oh what a yummy breakfast treat! I’m contemplating eating the banana in my bag right now too. What a luscious combo: banana and chocolate milk!
Feel - hot. I think I need to turn the space heater off. It was cold in here when I arrived, but not so much anymore.
Smell - The banana!
I’m going to add one more “sense” – even though it’s not one of the official five:
Think - Right now I’m thinking about a planning session I have to go to in an hour. It’s an idea-generating meeting for the upcoming conference for the Society of Environmental Journalists. Kind of intimidating since I’ll be in a room with about 20 local, high-level journalists discussing ideas for stories, programming and field trips that revolve around environmental issues in western Montana. I’m no journalist, but I do spend a lot of time outdoors. I’ve been doing research since yesterday afternoon – I hope I can actually contribute something. Mostly I’m going to eaves drop and steal ideas for my own organization’s conferences – but I’ll be expected to contribute in some way. We’ll see. The only reason I’m going is because my boss is elk hunting today. Hmmm – I think he’s going to owe me for this one!
